How to Do a Marine High and Tight Haircut
Next to shaving it off completely, the high and tight haircut is about as simple as it gets when it comes to maintaining your hair. Common with military personnel, the high and tight haircut leaves a limited amount of hair on the top of the person's head, with the rest of the hair cropped close to the skin, sometimes even shaved. A high and tight haircut is designed not to be seen when a hat is worn. Cutting a marine high and tight haircut can be completed in a few steps. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Brush the hair in the direction that it is growing on the top and the sides of the head. Use a detangling comb for longer hair, if necessary.
-
2
Equip a set of electric hair clippers with a short clipper gate, such as a 1/4-inch gate. Change the clipper height to the middle setting. Trim the hair on the top of the head the same length unless the person wants the front to be slight longer; in that case, use a slightly larger clipper gate for the front of the hair and the smaller gate for the back part of the head.

3
Remove the clipper gate from the clippers. Change the clipper height to the lowest setting. Use the clippers to shave the hair on both sides of the head and the back of the head. Trim gently behind the ears to get any extraneous hair there as well. Use a razor and shaving cream if the person wants the sides shaved extremely close to the skin.

4
Use scissors and a cutting comb to shape the hair on the top of the head and clip any uneven lengths.
