How to Block a Stove Facing Northwest for Feng Shui

A south-facing stove set in an island is ideal.

Chinese feng shui is the practice of placing furniture and decorative elements in configurations that balance and direct positive energy throughout a room. The kitchen is linked with prosperity and good health and the stove represents the element of fire. The northwest direction is linked with metal; interactions between metal and fire adversely affect positive energy in a kitchen. If there is no way to move the stove, counteract the problem with some feng shui solutions.

Instructions

1. Tilt or move the stove until the back faces northeast, preferably in a kitchen island with full or partial view of the kitchen door.

2. Install a mirror above the stove. The mirror will reflect the energy away from the element of metal.

3. Hang or place a plant next to the stove to increase feelings of tranquility and balance energy.
