How to Load Brushes in GIMP
GIMP includes an assortment of brushes you can use for drawing in the program. Each brush produces lines of different sizes and shapes. You may find that the generic brushes supplied with GIMP do not meet your needs. Luckily, many users have created brushes for GIMP and you can download them from the Web and use these brushes in your designs.

Download the GIMP brushes to your computer and unzip them, if they are in a ZIP archive. You can download brushes from many websites, such as DeviantART.

Locate the "Brushes" folder for GIMP on your computer. On a typical Windows PC, you'll find this folder by clicking the Windows "Start" button, selecting "Computer" and double-clicking the "C:" drive under "Hard Drives." Click "Users," the name of your user account, ".gimp-2.6" and "Brushes."

Hold the "Ctrl” button and click all of the brushes you downloaded to your computer. Each brush is highlighted as you click on it.

Right-click one of the brushes and select "Copy" from the context menu.

Right-click inside the "Brushes" folder and select "Paste."

Open GIMP on your computer and click the brush you want to use in the Brushes box.

Tips & Warnings
When searching for your "Brushes" folder, ".gimp-2.6" changes to the actual number of the GIMP version you are using.
