How to Export an OBJ From Maya 2011

The Maya 2011 3-D modeling application makes it easy to export an OBJ. In Maya, an OBJ is a 3-D model that may be exported from Maya and utilized in other modeling applications, such as 3-D Coat. Some preparation is required in Maya to export the OBJ. Make sure all parts of the model are named, an the history of the model is deleted, prior to exporting the OBJ from Maya. Remove any animation and make sure to freeze all geometry. Finally, ensure all normals are facing outward. You are then ready to export the OBJ from Maya.
