DKIM signatures help manage the flow of email in your organization.

According to IT World, "DKIM is an emerging e-mail authentication standard supported by Yahoo, Google and others ISPs, as well as a growing number of Email Service Providers that was developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force." Enabling DKIM signatures allows companies and other organizations to better handle the flow of the email they send and receive and block emails that may be dangerous to their systems. A DKIM signature can be deployed in four steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Compile a list of all of the domains that you want to obtain a DKIM signature for. Many companies have numerous domain names that they send and receive email through. Prepare a complete list.

    • 2

Create DKIM encryption keys and policy records with an online application such as Port 25 or Socket Labs.

    • 3

Process DNS text records that include DKIM information for every domain on your list. Insert DNS text records in the public facing DNS record for each domain.

    • 4

Avoid creating DNS records for any domain addresses that you don't want blacklisted. Blacklisted domains will not be able to send and receive email through your system.
