Passap Duomatic 80 Instructions

Save

The PASSAP Duomatic 80 is a Swiss-made double-bed knitting machine capable of creating sweaters, dresses and other knitted apparel in a semiautomated fashion. Usable for personal home and industrial use, the Duomatic handles large and complex knitting patterns in a short amount of time with relative ease, as opposed to time and labor-intensive hand-knitting. Preparing the Duomatic 80 for operation is a relatively straightforward task that most novices can perform in less than 15 minutes, in most cases.

Threading the Yarn Guide

  • Place a ball of yarn in each yarn holder. Insert the loose end of yarn emerging from the center of the ball into one end of the double-end bodkin.

  • Guide the yarn in the first yarn holder through the first eyelet. Pull the tension dial near the top of the stalk, and thread the yarn behind the dial. Release the dial and let it pop back into place.

  • Guide the yarn through the second, third and fourth eyelets at the top of the stalk. Bring the yarn down towards the feeding eyelets below the yarn holder. Repeat the procedure for the yarn in the second yarn holder.

Threading the Feeding Eyelets

  • Pull the color changer lever toward the right twice. Doing so will push both feeding eyelets up.

  • Push the left feeding eyelet towards the left to remove it from the eyelet holder. Thread the yarn through the eyelet and push it back into the eyelet holder.

  • Pass the yarn end between the two beds. Insert the yarn into the slot on the right-hand side of the front bed.

  • Press the left eyelet holder downwards. Repeat the procedure for the right-feeding eyelet.

Moving the Feeding Eyelet into the Lock

  • Pull the color changer lever towards the right twice. Make sure the feeding eyelets rise upward into position.

  • Press the left-feeding eyelet downwards. Pull the color changer lever towards the right once.

  • Press the right-feeding eyelet downward. Pull the color changer lever toward the right until it operates the lever of the color changer. The first feeding eyelet will move into the jaws on the lock.

Preparing the Knitting Machine for Use

  • Remove the needles from the blocking rail and push them upwards into the working position. Make sure the needle heads are level with the top edge of the knitting beds.

  • Reset the row counter by pulling the small lever alongside the three counter knobs to the right. The counter will return to “0.”

  • Set the “N-X” lever on the lock to the “N” position for normal knitting. Set the lever to the “X” position to activate the pattern selector dial. Turn the dial to the desired setting to create knitting patterns.
