1
Pour boiling water on top of invasive mint weed and moss plant material. Inexpensive and effective, boiling water will shock and kill the plant after repeated applications over time.
-
2
Use weed- and moss-killing products containing ferrous sulfate and ferrous ammonium sulfate. These products are environmentally safe. The iron and sulfur in the weed killer may actually enrich the surrounding grass, improving its color.
-
-
3
Dig moss and weeds out of the ground using gardening tools, taking care to remove all traces of unwanted plant material. Even if the moss and weeds appear to have died, it is important to remove the existing material completely to avoid regrowth.
-
4
Pour new grass seed over areas once covered by moss and weeds, watering the seeds as directed by the product instructions. Cover seeds with 1/4-inch of soil to keep moist.
