How to Bring Electrical Outlets Out in Backsplash
When you add a tile backsplash to your kitchen wall, the wall is naturally going to be thicker than it was previously. When this happens, you may notice that your electrical outlets appear sunken in. Purchase a set of PVC electrical box extenders through your local hardware store or online. Only purchase electrical box extenders that do not have backs on them.

Turn off the electricity in your home while you work on extending the outlets.

Remove the electrical outlet cover plates and remove the screws keeping your electrical outlets in place.

Slide the PVC electrical box extenders inside the existing electrical box without undoing or disturbing the wiring. Screw the outlet back into the electrical box. The electrical outlet should now be flush with your tile backsplash.

Replace the electrical outlet cover plates.
