How to Naturally Kill Wheat Weevils
Discovering wheat weevils in your home is a stomach-churning ordeal. These pests, also known as grain weevils or granary weevils, take up residence in the packaged grain products in your pantry. There they lay eggs and reproduce, increasing their population in a matter of months. Since these bugs live and breed within food products, ordinary pesticides aren't safe. Weevil infestations must be handled naturally. To rid your home of weevils, you'll have to perform a thorough inspection and cleaning. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Inspect all of the grain products in your cupboards. Pour the contents of each package into a white bowl so you can easily spot weevils. Throw away any contaminated products.

2
If you find evidence of an infestation, remove everything from your pantry shelves and vacuum thoroughly. Pay special attention to cracks and crevices. Throw away the vacuum bag when you are finished. Store the trash bag away from your house until it's picked up by the trash collector.

3
Wipe down your pantry shelves with warm, soapy water or vinegar. Store any unaffected products in sealed containers made of glass or metal, and return them to your pantry.

4
Prevent another infestation by regularly inspecting your grain products. Weevils can easily chew their way through a box or bag to the grain inside, so check sealed packages for infestation. Kill any present weevil eggs by freezing all grain products for at least one week after purchase. You can also try repelling the weevils by placing small bags of black pepper around your pantry.
