      Measure the distance across each corner of your wall frame to ascertain the size of the brace you will be installing.

      Use a protractor to draw 45-degree angles.

      Draw a 45-degree angle on a piece of lumber using the protractor. Measure the length you need and draw another 45-degree angle. Cut the lumber to size with the saw. Make as many braces as required by your building code, usually two or four per frame.
