Find a plethora of colors of boas at craft stores or party suppliers.

Turn your baby's nursery door into an ethereal delight with a wreath made of feathers. Customize the color of the wreath to match your nursery, such as pastel colors or black and white. Or, go for a natural approach with a wreath that resembles a flock of yellow baby chicks. Give the wreath a welcoming appeal by adding the baby's name in wood letters around the front of the wreath. If you know someone who is expecting, make this wreath for a baby shower or welcoming-home gift. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Attach one end of a feather boa to the back of a 12-inch foam wreath using hot glue. Wrap the feather boa once around the end that you hot-glued to the form. Spiral it around the wreath form until you reach the end of the boa. Use hot glue to affix it to the form.

    • 2

Hot-glue the end of a second feather boa at the same spot where the first boa ended. Wrap this feather boa around the form; hot-glue the end as you did with the first boa. Add two to four additional boas to the wreath form, depending on the fullness of the boas.

    • 3

Add hot glue to the hard end of individual feathers that contrast the feather boas, or are in shades lighter or darker than the boas. Tuck the hard end of the feathers into the feathers from the boa. Place approximately 15 individual feathers around the wreath; add more or fewer feathers as desired.

    • 4

Cut a 24-inch length of 2-inch-wide satin ribbon. Fold the ribbon in half and tie it around the bottom of the wreath in the middle. Fashion a large bow in the front of the wreath with the ribbon.

    • 5

Attach a miniature paper bird, which can be either an origami bird or a papier-mâché variety, to the center of the bow using hot glue.

    • 6

Mount the wreath over the door of the nursery using a wreath hanger.
