Re-create the widget and put the new one in place of the old.

If you're using Amazon Slideshow widgets to make money on your blog or website, you know how easy it was to set up the widget and add text that appears over the media you are advertising on your blog. If you've created some text that you now want to remove from the widget, it is tough to do by just amending the HTML code that currently exists on your site. As long as you've saved the widget to the My Widgets section of your Amazon Associates account, however, you can change the widget and reinsert it on your blog or site.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Amazon account, select "Widgets" from the top menu bar, and then click "My Widgets" from the left menu.

    • 2

Click "Edit" next to the Slideshow widget you want to amend.

    • 3

Hover your cursor over the individual items under the Added to Widget section until you see the Add Comments box appear. Click "Add Comments" on the item for which you want to amend the text.

    • 4

View the text that appears in the box under the image for the item. This should show any text that you added when you created the widget in the first place. If you don't want that text to be there anymore, delete the text from the box.

    • 5

Click "Save Comments" within the item's box.

    • 6

Scroll down and click "Next Step" from the bottom right of the screen.

    • 7

Select any new content or layout changes you want to make, then click "Add to My Web Page."

    • 8

Click "Copy" from the pop-up window that appears. This copies the new code for the widget.

    • 9

Navigate to the content management system for your blog or website and open the page where the widget currently resides.

    • 10

Delete the code for the current widget, then paste the new code you just created into its spot. You have now removed the old widget -- with the text that you didn't want -- and replaced it with the new widget without text.
