How to Design Your Own Puck
If the typical plain black hockey puck seems boring, then try adding some colorful designs to it. You might opt for a simple color change or choose an intricate painting for one side of the puck. You can use your new puck in a game or as a small art piece to put on display. Either way, you can create your own design for a hockey puck with basic supplies.
Things You'll Need
- Hockey puck
- Paper
- Pencil

Instructions

1
Place an old hockey puck on a plain sheet of paper.
-
2
Trace around the puck on the paper using a pencil. This will give you an accurate idea of the dimension of a hockey puck and what kind of design would suit its dimensions.
-
-
3
Draw several designs. Hockey pucks often have team emblems on them, but try several designs to find one that suits you.
-
4
Use photo editing software to create designs, if you don't want to draw your design by hand. You can use the software to experiment with shapes, colors and images.
-
5
Send a copy of your design to a professional puck printer. You can print several copies of your customized puck using one of these services. If you don't want to spend the money, or you are just designing a puck for fun, then try painting one yourself.
-
6
Apply a coat of primer to the surface of your hockey puck. This will make the surface easier to paint on and make your design stand out. Once you have applied a coat of primer to one side, carefully recreate your design using acrylic paint.
