DIY Bridal Kitchen Shower Corsage
Themed pre-wedding showers are a way to celebrate an impending marriage and encourage guests to bring certain kinds of gifts. Brides who will receive multiple showers often choose themed showers so that all of the celebrations do not feel the same. While focusing the shower on kitchen items may aid guests in selecting gifts, it can make decorating difficult. To create a corsage for a bride at her kitchen shower, use a traditional corsage as the foundation, and include a small embellishment that reflects the theme of the shower.
Things You'll Need
- 1 to 6 flowers, any variety (number depends on size of individual blossom)
- Small kitchen item or image on paper
- Floral wire
- Wire cutters
- 1/4-inch wide grosgrain ribbon
- Scissors
- Hot glue

1
Gather one to six blooms to fashion into the corsage base. The number of flowers you use depends on the size of the flowers. If you use a broad Asiatic lily, one bloom may suffice. If you use a small flower like violets, you will need several blossoms to complete a corsage.

2
Select a tiny kitchen item to include in the corsage. The item should be smaller than all of the flowers together, so that it does not overwhelm the corsage. A miniature salt shaker, wooden spoon, piece of flatware or teacup would look lovely nestled among flowers. Alternatively, use a small kitchen-related image on paper, if you do not want to include an item.

3
Cut pieces of floral wire with wire cutters to add to the flower stems. Cut one piece for each flower. Cut the wire twice as long as the stem on the flower.
-
4
Hold the wire against the stem of a flower.
-
5
Wrap narrow, spooled ribbon around the stem and wire to bind them. Start at the base of the stem, under the petals. Continue wrapping the stem and wire until you have covered both entirely. Wrap the bare wire, as well.
-
6
Trim the ribbon from the spool. Apply a peppercorn-sized bead of hot glue to the end, to secure it in place.
-
7
Arrange the flowers in a cluster, as you want them to appear on the final corsage. Include other small decorative elements like baby's breath or a spray of crystals. Arrange all of the elements so that you can hold them together by pinching them at a common point.
-
8
Wrap the pinched area three or four times in ribbon to secure the arrangement. Trim the ribbon from the spool. Secure the loose end with a bead of hot glue.
-
9
Nestle the kitchen item among the flowers. Attach the item by applying a pea-sized bead of hot glue. Affix it to a ribbon-wrapped portion of the corsage. If the item is not long enough to reach a ribbon-wrapped area and remain visible, glue a piece of floral wire to the item. Glue the floral wire to the base of the corsage.
