How to Move From iPhoto to Aperture
The Aperture photo management software is an advanced version of the iPhoto application designed for professional use. Aperture supports storing photos in multiple libraries, tools for touching up and editing photos as well as dozens of effects for manipulating your photography. Both applications are designed and released by Apple, which allows a seamless move for your photos and settings from your iPhoto library into Aperture.

Click the "Finder" application, and click "Applications," then click "Aperture" in the list.

Click the "File" button in the interface that appears and click "Import" in the context menu that drops down.

Click the "iPhoto Library" option to open an import dialog window, then click the "Store Files" menu and click "In Their Current Location." Click "Import" to move your iPhoto library to Aperture.
