How to Make a Wristband Smaller on a Croton Watch
Croton watches are luxury Swiss timepieces that have been manufactured since 1878. While you can size their leather-strap watches to fit simply by adjusting the buckle on the strap, the metal-wristband models are joined together with links which must be removed to make the strap smaller. Rather than taking the watch to a jeweler to be adjusted, you can accomplish this operation with a couple of items found around the house. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Put on the Croton watch and close the clasp. Pinch the strap so that it fits comfortably around your wrist; the number of links held in the pinch is the number that you need to remove from the band.
-
2
Look at the underside of the bracelet for links with arrows etched into them. These are the removable links, and the arrows point in the direction in which the pin needs to be pushed out.

Push a pin into the hole on the side of the links that you wish to remove. Pull the exposed holding pin out of the other side with needle-nose pliers. Remove the pin on the other side and slide the link off the strap. Remove as many links as necessary.

Realign the loose ends of the strap. Push the holding pins back into the holes, against the direction of the etched arrows. Put the watch on your wrist and close the strap to test the fit.
