How to Keep Beaded Bracelet Fishing Line From Coming Undone

Fishing line works great for holding onto your fishing hook when landing that evening's dinner, but the strength and durability of the line also makes it perfect for craft projects. People who enjoy beading for making necklaces or bracelets often use fishing line as the basis of the project. However, it's sometimes necessary to take a simple, extra step or two to ensure that it does not come undone.

Instructions

    • 1

Tightly crimp your beads onto the fishing line. Grasp your crimp beads with your crimping pliers and squeeze down tightly so that the bead is holding onto the fishing line. Make sure that the crimping bead you're using is meant for the same measurement of fishing line that's run through it to avoid a loose hold and consequent falling apart.

    • 2

Tie a knot in the line. Run the fishing line through until you have all the beads you want on it and then attach a clasp on the end. Tie a tight knot around the clasp and then cut off the excess fishing line.

    • 3

Add super glue to the knot. A gentle glue that doesn't discolor, or some kind of epoxy adhesive will get the job done. A dab of glue on the knot will make it less likely to come apart, and if it's placed near the clasp, it is less likely to be noticed and spoil the effect of the project.
