How to Change the Water Filter in a Keurig Coffee Machine
Making a decent cup of joe relies partly on a well-maintained coffee maker. General maintenance includes descaling your machine periodically and washing such parts as the coffee filter in soap and water to remove old residues. For your Keurig coffee machine, it also means replacing the water filter every couple of months. Replacing the filter regularly prevents the smell and taste of chlorine from spoiling your morning coffee. Does this Spark an idea?

Detach the water reservoir from the side of the your Keurig coffee machine. Remove the lid, and set it aside for now.

Grasp the water filter handle assembly inside the water reservoir. Pull up on the handle to detach the assembly from the reservoir.

Squeeze the pair of tabs at the bottom of the filter assembly, and detach the filter housing from the rest of the assembly.

Remove the old filter from the housing, and discard.

Soak the new filter in water. Place the saturated filter into the filter housing.

Clip the filter housing back into the bottom of the filter assembly. Rotate the dial atop the filter handle assembly for two months from the present date.

Fit the filter handle assembly back into the base of the reservoir. Insert the reservoir back into the Keurig coffee maker.

Along with replacing your filter, Keurig recommends de-scaling your machine every three to six months, depending on use.
