How to Add a Mailing List Link to a Facebook Page

Pairing a mailing list with a Facebook page can help to encourage others to sign up for email updates, but the social networking site lacks an official application that adds a mailing list to your page. However, Facebook does let you specify a URL, or Web page address, for visitors to click. Add a link to your external mailing list page or sign-up form so your fans can sign up even though you can't embed the list directly in your Facebook page.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account and click the "Account" link on the header bar. Click the "Use Facebook as Page" link to see the pages you're currently administering. Click the page you wish to add the mailing list link. If you don't see the "Use Facebook as Page" link, you have only a personal profile, so you must create a fan page, otherwise known as a business or band page, depending on its focus. Click the "Create a page" button and follow the steps to do so.

    • 2

Click the "Edit Info" link on your Facebook page to bring up the settings section. Click "Basic Information" to see the different fields you can edit.

    • 3

Click the text box with the "Website" label and paste the link to your mailing list. Click "Save Changes" to publish the link on your page's info section.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can add multiple mailing list pages or other websites by separating each link with a space.
