How to Make a Beaded Mesh Bracelet With Copper Wire
Mesh bracelets can be braided, knotted or woven, but this technique uses a crochet hook to crochet the copper wire. You can experiment with beads that are different colors, sizes and textures to create a fun bracelet that matches an outfit or reflects your mood. The materials and equipment needed to create the bracelet can be purchased from craft stores or online retailers.
Things You'll Need
- Copper wire (28 gauge or thinner)
- 40 Beads (different sizes)
- Wire cutters
- Crochet hook (size G)
- Needle-nose pliers
- Toggle clasp
- Clasp
- 2 jump-rings
Instructions

1
String 2 inches worth of beads onto the copper wire. The length of the strand of beads should not exceed the length of your wrist. Keep the wire on its spool.
-
2
Push the beads 30 inches up the wire. Make a slip knot about 3 inches away from the loose end of the wire. Hold the crochet hook between your thumb, index and middle finger. Wrap the wire under the hook then draw it through the slip knot to create a chain stitch. Repeat the chain stitch three times.

3
Push a bead down to the end of the last crochet stitch and use the same chain stitch technique to crochet around each the beads. Repeat with all of the other beads. Create four stitches after the beads.
-
4
Repeat Steps 1, 2 and 3 two times until you are left with three strands of crocheted beads, all with four chain stitches in between. Cut the end of the wire approximately 3 inches after the last chain stitch with the wire cutters.
-
5
Fold the wire twice so that the strands of beads are now positioned above one another. Twist one side of the wires together to secure the three strands in place.
-
6
Loosely braid the three strands together by lifting the left strand over the middle strand, then the right strand over the middle strand. Continue until you have braided the entire bracelet.
-
7
Twist the other end of the three wires together.
-
8
Pinch the twisted end of the wires together with the needle-nose pliers and rotate it around to form a small loop. Hold the loop in between the pliers and twist the remaining wire around the bottom of the loop to secure it in place.
-
9
Twist the jump-ring apart with the pliers. Insert the jump-ring through the loop in the wire. Insert the clasp onto the jump-ring and the squeeze the jump-ring shut with the pliers.
-
10
Repeat Steps 8 and 9 with the other end of the bracelet using the toggle clasp. Measure the bracelet around your wrist before creating the loop to ensure you create a bracelet that fits.
