Instructions

    • 1

Install the majority of the backsplash tiles on the wall until you reach the upper portion where the top of the tiles require cutting to form an arched curve.

    • 2

Draw the curve onto the wall surface using a pencil, if you have not already done so.

    • 3

Place a fresh tile at the top of the backsplash directly above the previously installed tiles. Hold the tile against the wall with one hand and use a pencil to draw the arch of the desired curve on it by following the mark on the wall

    • 4

Lay a piece of plywood on a work surface and lay the tile on top of it with the pencil line facing up. Clamp both the plywood and the tile to the table firmly using a table clamp.

    • 5

Plug in a spiral cutting saw and squeeze the trigger. Lower the spinning blade onto the pencil mark on the tile until it drills a hole through it. Then move the saw sideways along the line to create the arched cut.

    • 6

Release the trigger and set the saw aside. Open the table clamp and remove the tile from it. Discard the unneeded portion of the arc.

    • 7

Install the tile on the wall using thinset mortar and then proceed to cut arced tops on each additional upper tile in the same manner.
