How to Break an ILO Connection

When managing a server, many users have made use of Integrated Lights Out (ILO) connections. These connections allow users to manage severs without being in the data center where the server is housed. However, if you wish to break the connection to your ILO server, you can do so by making use of the ILO configuration program installed on your computer.

  • ILO username and password

      Select the "Start" button on your desktop. Select the "Run" option and type "ILO Configuration" into the run box to begin the ILO program.

      Enter the IP address or domain name of your ILO server; then select the "Connect" option.

      Enter your ILO username and password into the text boxes that appear. Select the "Administration" option in the ILO main menu.

      Select the "Network Administration" option in the next menu; then select the "Devices" option in the network menu. Select the "Renew IP Address" option to break the connection with your ILO server.
