How to Troubleshoot the CyberPower 485VA

The CyberPower CP485SL and CyberPower AE485, which both operate at 485va, are power-surge protection and backup devices. The CyberPower units are very useful in networks, where system stability is of the utmost importance. The CyberPower devices, while providing important services, aren't complicated, so you shouldn't run into any problems. If you find an error with your CyberPower 485 device, however, you can troubleshoot it yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Check to see if the full-time surge protectors have stopped providing power, and whether the circuit-breaker button is lit. If it is, the circuit breaker has been tripped due to an overload. Turn the device off, unplug at least one device, wait ten seconds, reset the circuit breaker and turn it on. Repeat until the service is stable again; if it doesn't stabilize, your device is faulty.

Check to see if the UPS doesn't perform the runtime; if it doesn't, there's a battery issue. Try leaving the UPS plugged in for a few hours to charge it. If the problem still persists, the battery is worn out.

Check to see if the UPS will turn on. If it doesn't, first turn it off and then try again. Secondly, make sure that the device is connected to the AC power. If the problem still persists, you may have a battery issue or a greater mechanical problem.

Check to see if the PowerPanel Personal Edition software is inactive. If it is, first make sure that the device is connected via USB to the correct ports. If the power light is flashing on the device, shut down the computer, unplug UPS, remove a device, wait ten seconds, and then restart and try again.
