How to Decorate a Truck for Homecoming
Most schools celebrate homecoming week with a variety of festivities, including a big football game, a dance and, of course, parading the homecoming court. Decorate the truck — or trucks — that will parade the homecoming court around the football field. The truck should be festively decorated using the school colors and the homecoming theme, if there is one. Utilize the front, back, top and both sides of the truck so it looks complete from all angles.

1
Stick metallic or vinyl fringe around the bottom edges of the truck to make the truck appear to float along. The tires and undercarriage will be covered. Use magnetic tape to avoid causing permanent damage or leaving a residue on the truck. The magnetic part will stick to the truck and the tape part can hold the decorations in place.

2
Hang banners on the truck. Banners could be made of vinyl or butcher paper. Use magnetic tape to hang the banners on the front grill of the truck, on the doors and sides, and one on the back of the tail gate. The banners could say the year and school's name, "Happy Homecoming," or the names of the passengers and their titles. Another option is to glue or tape silk or paper flowers to the banners to make the truck resemble a float.

3
Attach garland or fringe around the windows of the truck. Twisted streamers or plastic flowers are some options.

4
Place peel-and-stick decals on the truck using letters to spell out names or images, such as stars or the school's mascot.
-
5
Tie balloons around the mirrors or door frames for more color and height. Roll the windows down and tie the balloons around the top of the door in the crack. Use the school's colors.

Tips & Warnings
Review the school's rules to determine how many people can ride in the back of each truck.
Avoid covering the windows or mirrors so the driver can see where he's going.
