A child's modeling portfolio should have a variety of poses.

If you want your child to break into modeling, having a portfolio to present to modeling agencies is essential. If this is the first time you’ve ventured into the modeling world, the idea of putting together a portfolio for your child might seem daunting. However, having the basic knowledge of what agencies expect to see in portfolios will help you put together a portfolio that shows off your child’s looks and will get her booked for modeling jobs.

Instructions

    • 1

Hire a photographer to take your child’s pictures. A photographer will make your child’s pictures look their best, improving the quality of the portfolio.

    • 2

Add a set number of pictures to the portfolio. A first portfolio should contain five to 12 pictures. The portfolio should not go over 20 pictures.

    • 3

Ensure that the portfolio contains two head shots of your child. Have one picture of the child smiling, and the other with a plain expression.

    • 4

Add pictures that show a variety of poses. Include some action shots, a full body picture, some smiling shots and a picture in swimwear.

    • 5

Keep the pictures in a quality portfolio case with a hard cover. Encase each picture in a clear plastic folder to protect them.

    • 6

Update the portfolio regularly to stay current with your child’s pictures.
