Find out how to make a small pyramid out of different gauges of wire.

Pyramids can be solely decorative, but some people believe they have special powers. Allegedly, if you place a dull razor in the pyramid, it will become sharp again over time. Some legends have it that fruit will stay ripe longer near a pyramid. Make a small pyramid out of wire to display on a shelf as-is or use as a frame for a solid structure. Follow a simple procedure to create the pyramid's sides and base out of wire.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure and cut two lengths of wire to the same length. Keep in mind that half of these pieces will make up the lengths of each side of the pyramid. Use wire or bolt cutters to perform this task.

    • 2

Divide the length of the wires in half. Mark the halfway point using a measuring tape and marker. Cross the two wires at these marks to form of an "X."

    • 3

Wrap a thin wire around the point where the wires cross to keep them together. Wrap the wire up and around and then right to left to keep the wires in the "X" shape. Trim the excess thin wire using your cutters.

    • 4

Bend the four ends of the "X" down at a 51.5-degree diagonal angle to form the sides of the pyramid. Place the wire structure on a table so the wrapped connection point at the top is pointing up.

    • 5

Measure the distance between two adjacent ends of wire. Multiply the distance by four. Cut the same kind of wire you used for the sides to the measurement you calculated. Bend the wire in four equal increments to form a square. This square will serve as the base of the pyramid.

    • 6

Place the ends of the standing pyramid frame to the corners of the square. Wrap thin wire around the ends of the sides and the square corners where they meet to hold them together. Add a dab of epoxy adhesive to the corners for reinforcement and to prevent unraveling. Wait 24 hours for the adhesive to dry before displaying your wire pyramid.
