The Removal of the Radio Face Plate on a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse
The radio face plate on the 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse extends to the bottom edge of the dash, beneath the air conditioner controls, and all the way up to the dash air conditioning vents. Removing the face plate is necessary if you want to remove or replace the radio, or make repairs to the wiring. The face plate is attached by screws and an attached snap clip.

Remove the two Phillips screws from the bottom edge of the radio face panel. Keep these screws in a safe location so you can easily replaced the face plate.

Grasp the top edge of the radio face plate with both hands. Pull the top edge toward you to unsnap it from the dash.

Unplug the emergency flasher connection behind the panel, and them separate the panel from the dash.

Tips & Warnings
To replace the panel, connect the emergency flasher plug then push the top edge of the panel into the dash. You'll hear a snapping sound as the panel connections. Replace the two Phillips screws on the bottom edge.
If you plan on removing or replacing the radio, disconnect the negative cable from the Eclipse's battery first.
