How to Make Earthy Curtains
There are a variety of premade curtain designs you may browse through online, but the higher quality the curtains are, the higher the price often is. Making your own curtains saves money and you may customize the quality by choosing eco-friendly fabric and the color and design of your choice. Even though curtains may give a room's appearance a dramatic change, making curtain is simple and doesn't require extensive sewing experience. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Measuring tape
- Eco-friendly fabric of choice
- Scissors
- Sewing pins
- Needle and thread or loaded sewing machine
- Clip-on curtain rings

Determine the measurements to be used for the curtains. Measure the width of the curtain rod you plan to use and add an additional 6 inches for slack in the curtains. Measure the length from the height of the curtain rod to about 2 inches above the floor.

Cut the fabric to match the measurements, adding 1/2 inch to the length to allow room for seams.

Fold the fabric over 1/2 inch on each side and secure the seams with sewing pins.

Sew along the folded line using a needle and thread or sewing machine. Remove the sewing pins.

Attach clip-on curtain rings, one every 3 inches across the top of the curtain.

Examples of eco-friendly fabric are hemp, bamboo fabric and organic cotton.
Earthy tones range from light tans and browns to dark blues and greens.
