How to Add Blinkers to a UTV
Adding a blinker kit to a side-by-side utility vehicle is a necessary modification in states such as Arizona and West Virginia, where these off-road vehicles can be driven on the street. Blinkers provide you with a measure of safety on the road, as many drivers may not pay attention to hand signals when you are turning or may not realize what your hand signals mean. Installing blinkers onto your UTV does not interfere with the existing lighting or electronics on your UTV, because they are installed on their own fuse in the fuse block.

1
Determine where you want the blinkers to be located on your UTV. To install them correctly, you will have to have access to the back of the panel on which they are installed. In addition, you need to install one blinker for each corner of the vehicle, just as the blinkers are installed on a car.

2
Drill access holes in the body of the UTV with an electric drill. The hole should match the diameter of the mounting screw on the back of the blinkers. When the holes are drilled, mount the baseplates of the blinkers onto the vehicle. To do this, thread a nut over the hollow mounting screw on the blinker.

Mount the turn signal switch near the steering wheel of the UTV so that you can activate it easily when necessary. Different kits use different style switches, so follow the kit instructions for the proper mounting and placement of the switch.

4
Wire the blinkers at each corner of the UTV, and then install the light bulbs in each of the blinker housings. Follow the kit instructions for specific wiring recommendations, but the wiring from each light will run to a control panel, which is in turn routed through the switch and the fuse block for the vehicle.
