Resemble a Greek goddess when you wear a toga.

Bring out your inner Greek Goddess by dressing like Aphrodite, the Goddess of love, or Hera, the first Greek goddess. Whether you are attending a toga party or you are looking for an inexpensive Halloween costume, the toga is the ideal choice. If you have never wrapped in a toga before, do not fret; creating the look is simple as long as you have a plain white bed sheet. Polish the look off with Greek-inspired accessories such as a gold headband and appropriate jewelry. In addition, wear gladiator sandals and cuffs for a complete Greek goddess style.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on white undergarments. Bedsheets are see-through; therefore, always conceal yourself, and help it blend in with the costume by wearing white undergarments. If white is not available, then choose nude undergarments.

    • 2

Hold the sheet in front of you to determine the length. The toga should only reach to your feet; therefore, fold the sheet toward your body until the sheet is floor length.

    • 3

Grab the upper corner of the sheet with your left hand. Slide your hand down from the corner 6 inches. You will hold onto the corner of fabric throughout the wrapping of the toga; the fabric will be used to tie with the other corner at the end.

    • 4

Wrap the sheet around the front of your body and under your right armpit. The toga will sit just above your chest area and reach to the floor.

    • 5

Drape the sheet around your back and under your left armpit. Pull the sheet taut to ensure a snug fit. Use your right hand to pull the loose corner, under the left armpit, around the front of the toga and up to your right shoulder.

    • 6

Wrap the corner in your left hand around the back of your head, and tie with the sheet corner at the right shoulder. Adjust the toga around your body.

Tips & Warnings

  • Place a large gold brooch at the knot on the right shoulder.

  • For added coverage, wear a white tank and leggings under the toga. You can pin the toga to the tank top with safety pins to ensure the toga remains in place.
