How to Make a Bulb Wreath
Glass bulb ornaments are arguably one of the most traditional Christmas tree adornments right along with lights, garland and tree toppers. The rare few of these fragile ornaments that survive long enough to become too worn or out-of-date for the tree deserve to be displayed in a special way. Gather up all those well-used bulbs, and use them to construct a shiny, festive wreath to hang on your front door, over the fireplace or on a wall to add holiday cheer to your home.
Things You'll Need
- 24-inch straw wreath form
- Hot glue gun
- 100 total medium and large bulb ornaments
- 75 total small and tiny bulb ornaments
Instructions
-
-
1
Remove the metal caps from your ornaments by pulling the small metal loop coming out of them.
-
2
Lay the wreath form flat on your work surface. Attach medium-size bulbs around the inside and outside of the form with hot glue. Position the bulbs as close together as possible with the tops -- where you removed the caps -- pointed toward the back of the form.

-
3
Attach the remaining medium and large ornaments to the front of the wreath form. Attach them with the tops of the ornaments facing in toward the form so they are easily masked as you continue adding ornaments.
-
4
Attach the small and tiny bulbs to the wreath with hot glue to fill in the gaps between the medium and large bulbs so none of the form shows through.

Tips & Warnings

Use old Christmas bulbs to make this wreath when you purchase new bulbs for your tree.
Use shatter-proof bulbs to make the wreath if you are worried about kids or pets knocking it down and breaking it.
Avoid skin contact with the hot glue as it will cause burns.
