How to Ask for Testimonials for a Website
Today more than ever, people use the Internet to shop for goods and services. However, they are unlikely to buy from websites they don’t trust. Anyone in business should learn how to ask for testimonials. Reviews and testimonials enhance credibility and make customers more likely to trust the business. People like to hear from others who have done business with a company because they feel the feedback is honest.

1
Follow up with customers who have ordered a product or used your services. Find out if you can do anything to assist them and whether they are happy with what they purchased. Ask them to give you a testimonial if they indicate they are pleased with their interaction with your company.
-
2
Offer incentives or free products in exchange for testimonials. People who otherwise wouldn’t make time to give you a testimonial will often do so in exchange for something of value.

3
Hold an event or celebration and invite your customers. Video tape them discussing your product or get their feedback in writing.
-
4
Obtain permission to quote customers who send you letters or emails of praise. These are natural testimonials of which all businesses should take advantage. People who have taken the initiative to let you know they are satisfied customers often won’t mind if you quote them.
-
5
Prepare a print or electronic form requesting feedback on the consumer’s experience with your company. Implement a way to capture feedback before your customers leave if you do business from a physical location. Most people won’t take action if you give them a number to call or something to fill out at home.
