How to Make Annotated Bullets

Microsoft Word 2010 can format a document to contain bullets or small symbols. A bullet can help break up the monotony of viewing dense text on a document. Bullets can make a list of items or ideas stand out on a printed page or on-screen. A bullet followed by an annotation can feature a comment or an explanatory note for added information to the text.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open the Word document.

    • 2

Click the “Home” tab on the command ribbon.

    • 3

Click the arrow next to the “Bullets” button in the “Paragraph” group. This button displays three bullets and three horizontal lines. A bullet library appears.

    • 4

Click the preferred bullet style from the “Bullet Library.” For example, a bullet can display an arrow, check mark, circle or square. The bullet appears on the page.

    • 5

Type the annotation to the right of the inserted bullet. Press the “Enter” key to start another bulleted line.

  • To stop the sequence of bullets, press the “Enter” key twice.
