How to Troubleshoot the Hoover F5915-900
The Hoover F5915-900 is a steam vacuum that uses hot water and a cleaning solution to clean carpets. The steam vacuum comes with a hose and stair/upholstery nozzle so that you can use it to clean stairs and furniture. Some minor problems may arise during use that can easily be solved. If the solutions fail for some reason, take the vacuum to a licensed repair shop to have the unit fixed. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
Vacuum Won’t Run
-
1
Check that the plug is fitted completely into the outlet. If the plug is not fully inserted, the vacuum may not be getting enough power to run.
-
2
Check that the fuse or breaker for the outlet is not tripped. A tripped fuse or breaker will not allow power to travel to that outlet and the vacuum will not operate.
-
-
3
Reset the fuse or breaker if it has been tripped or replace it if it has blown. If you are not familiar with replacing a fuse or breaker, have a licensed electrician do it for you.
Loss of Suction
-
4
Check the fluid level in the recovery tank. If it is full, the automatic shut-off will engage and the suction will stop working. Empty the recovery tank and replace it.
-
5
Check the end of the vacuum hose if you are using the stair/upholstery tool for blockage. Clear out any blockage and the suction should return.
-
6
Check that the recovery tank lid is on correctly and that the front panel has been replaced after using the stair/upholstery tool. These problems will cause the vacuum to lose suction.
Failure to Dispense Cleaning Solution
-
7
Check that the solution tank is firmly attached to the vacuum and that the lid is on correctly. Cleaning solution will not be dispensed in either of these cases.
-
8
Check the solution level in the solution tank. The vacuum cannot dispense solution if there is none in the solution tank.
-
9
Prime the pump with the pump primer tool if you are using the stair/upholstery tool. This will allow the solution to flow into the vacuum tube.
Brushes Fail to Rotate
-
10
Check the speed indicator for the brushes. Make sure that a speed has been selected.
-
11
Check the clear cover over the indicator for dirt. If it is dirty, the brushes will not rotate.
-
12
Clean the indicator screen and replace it.
