How to Add SHOUTcast to Amarok
Amarok is an open source music discovery program that has the main goal of helping users discover new music, and it does this in a variety of different ways. One of the ways used to be with the integration of SHOUTcast -- a site that streams thousands of different genre-based radio stations. Latest iterations of Amarok, however, no longer include this feature, but you can add it through Amarok’s script manager interface.

1
Download the SHOUTcast service Amarok script and save it someplace where it will be easy to find, such as your computer’s desktop. (See Resource 1)

Open Amarok. Click on “Tools” for a dropdown of tool choices. Click on “Script Manager” from the dropdown.
-
-
3
Click on the “Install Script” button from the lower left corner of the "Script Manager" interface. This will open a directory window.

Tips & Warnings
Like many programs, Amarok issues new releases regularly. Some releases can cause scripts to stop working properly. If you find a new Amarok release has caused SHOUTcast to stop working, check with the site where you downloaded the SHOUTcast script for an updated version that is compatible. It may take several days for script developers to accommodate the changes, however.
