OPI's chip skip will help prevent nail polish from chipping.

Most nail polish chips off, leaving your nails looking less than perfect. OPI, a popular high-end nail-polish company has developed a clear polish treatment called "Chip Skip," formulated to help prevent chipping. It's used before applying a base coat and dehydrates the nail surface, temporarily removing any oils or moisture from the nails. This makes it easier for the polish to stick and hold longer, leaving your manicure fresh and new looking for longer. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any nail polish left on your fingers with a cotton ball saturated in nail-polish remover. Get all traces of the polish off and wash hands with a mild hand soap in warm water. Dry hands and apply a gentle hand lotion to smooth and moisturize the skin.

    • 2

Shake the bottle of "Chip Skip" and begin painting the nails. "Chip Skip" is clear and a bit runny but dries almost instantly on the nails, so there are no worries about it getting too messy.

    • 3

Apply a clear top coat of nail polish after "Chip Skip" has dried. Allow that coat to dry anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. Once that has dried, begin painting nails with any color you desire. Apply two coats, waiting at least 10 minutes in between each coat. Wait for the second coat of polish to dry, and apply another coat of clear nail polish to set the color.
