How to Attach Molding to Interior Concrete Block
Many homeowners choose to paint their concrete block wall instead of installing drywall over it. However, they still need to hide the seam, where the floor meets the concrete block wall, with molding. Instead of using screws or nails, use construction adhesive to hold the molding in place. Construction adhesive holds the molding tightly to the concrete block wall without the hassle of drilling pilot holes. Does this Spark an idea?

Set a miter saw to a 45-degree angle cut. Cut about 1 inch off the end of a piece of molding.
-
2
Measure the wall's length and transfer this measurement to the piece of molding from Step 1. Place the molding on the saw table and line up the blade with the length mark. Cut through the molding.

3
Put a tube of construction adhesive into a caulk gun and a tube of silicone sealant into another caulk gun. Cut off the tips of both tubes with a utility knife.
-
4
Apply a bead of construction adhesive along the back of the molding then press the molding against the concrete block wall.

5
Measure the length of the next wall where you will be installing molding. Transfer this measurement to a new piece of molding and apply a bead of construction adhesive to the back. Apply a bead of sealant to the cut end that will be pressed against the cut edge of the previously installed piece of molding.

6
Press the second piece of molding onto the wall. Push the two cut ends together. Wipe away any extra sealant or adhesive that seeps out from underneath the molding with a damp paper towel.
