Tape a butterfly-shaped stencil to your daughter's wall, making sure that the stencil is completely flat. Pour a quarter-sized amount of stencil paint onto a plate and dip your stencil paint brush into it. Dab the paint brush onto the plate so that most of the paint is gone, then begin dabbing the paintbrush onto the stencil area using either a swirl motion or an up-and-down tapping motion. Continue doing this until the area is covered. Allow the paint to dry, then add another coat. Continue adding light coats until the paint looks smooth. Remove the stencil when the paint is completely dry. Paint stencil butterflies all over the walls, or choose one focal wall for the butterflies.

Remove the plain white shade from a lamp. Place a glue stick inside your hot glue gun and let it warm up. When it is warm, run a small bead of hot glue down the body section of a silk butterfly. Press the butterfly to the lamp shade, starting at the top edge. Hold the butterfly there until the glue is dry. Continue gluing silk butterflies to the lamp shade until it is completely covered. The butterfly wings will be fluttering, unglued, off of the lamp shade, giving this craft a three-dimensional look. Place the lamp on her bedside table. Make a matching lamp for the other side of her bed, or apply this treatment to a hanging lamp in the middle of the room.

Give your daughter craft paper and crayons. Ask her to draw pictures of butterflies on several of the pages and to color them with her favorite colors. When she is finished, place the butterfly pictures in frames and hang them on her bedroom walls for some whimsical art.
