How to Push Patches Over the Internet With SCCM
Use SCCM to push patches over the Internet to managed clients, making it possible for administrators to manage software installation and security patch management from a single central location. System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) can manage both local and Internet-based clients in a single location. By grouping selected clients and creating a software distribution model, administrators can force updates and new software installations onto remote computers. Software distribution can be scheduled to coincide with maintenance schedules or be assigned immediately for installation at the soonest possible time.
