How to Get a Thumbnail in a Facebook Link Post

How to Get a Thumbnail in a Facebook Link Post thumbnail
Links containing multiple images let you select the thumbnail you most prefer.

Facebook lets you share links to other websites by posting them to your wall and in your friends' news feeds. You and your friends then can discuss the linked content in the commenting area below. Each shared link appears with identifying information such as the title and description of the linked page, which gives friends a hint of what the page is about. You can also include a thumbnail image as long as the page contains images.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into your Facebook account and type or paste a link into the status update box at the top of your news feed or wall.

    • 2

Type a space and wait for the link preview to appear. The title, URL and description will appear below.

    • 3

Click inside the check box labeled "No Thumbnail" if there is already a check mark in it. This removes the check and displays a thumbnail if any thumbnails are available for the link.

    • 4

Click the left and right arrows labeled "Choose a Thumbnail" in the link preview to select a thumbnail, then click "Post."
