How to Uninstall an Ubuntu 3D Scanner

Uninstalling a 3D scanner from Ubuntu is good practice when you don't use it anymore. The software and drivers take up hard drive space that could be otherwise used for something else. If you're using another scanner in its place, the old software and drivers could be causing some conflict problems. Ubuntu automates installation and removal through its package manager "apt-get." To uninstall software and drivers from your system you will need administrative privileges.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the scanner from your system.

    • 2

Open an instance of command line. You can right-click on your desktop and select "Open Terminal."

    • 3

Type "sudo apt-get remove name" where "name" is the name of the software that you installed for your 3D scanner. Press "Enter;" the system will scan for the software you want to remove and prompt you again.

    • 4

Type "y" to confirm and press "Enter." Your scanner has now been successfully uninstalled from the system.
