How to Get Effects in Your User Backdrop

User backdrops are a great way to customize your computer.

Customizing your Windows user backdrop is a great way to put your individual stamp on a shared computer. You can apply 3D animation and effects to backdrops or wallpapers without affecting the speed or efficiency of the computer. Add animated effects to your computer by downloading a free backdrop from a trusted Web site such as Animated Wallpaper, Wallpapers or WinCustomize and installing it on your Windows user profile.

Instructions

1. Connect to the Internet, open your Web browser and navigate to your chosen Wallpaper download Web site.

2. Click on the "Download" button underneath your chosen animated wallpaper. Each wallpaper will feature different themes and effects so read the descriptions carefully.

3. Click on the completed download, and click "Save" when prompted. Choose a name and location for the wallpaper on your computer, and click "Save."

4. Click on "Start" followed by "Control Panel." Click on the "Appearance and Personalization" tab, followed by "Personalization," and then click on "Theme."

5. Navigate to your saved wallpaper, highlight it with your mous,e and click "OK." The animated wallpaper will appear as your user backdrop.
