How to Recreate a Face on Photoshop
Use Photoshop to recreate a damaged image of a face by using the program's Paintbrush tool to remake the face's structure, then to add color to that structure. This process is essentially the same as one many artists apply when using physical paints. It involves drawing "construction lines" to help the artist see the face as the three dimensional object it is. It's easy to forget this fact when painting on a two dimensional surface. As you work on this project, observe reference images of the face constantly. Also, be aware that creating an authentic-looking face typically involves a great deal of time. However, the work involved is rewarding, even if your face doesn’t exactly match that of your subject.
Instructions

1
Click the File menu's "Open" command, then navigate to and double-click an image file showing a damaged image of a face you would like to repair. Photoshop will load the image.
-
2
Click the Layer menu's "New" item to create a new drawing layer atop the loaded image, then click the paintbrush icon from the tool palette to run the Paintbrush tool.
-
-
3
Drag on the canvas to draw guidelines for these features: the eye cavity, eyes, nose, lips, ears and hairline. Ensure all lines fit the undamaged portions of the face for this and the remaining steps.
-
4
Create another drawing layer as you did in Step 2, then use the Paintbrush tool to draw simplified shapes likes boxes or cylinders for the features you drew guidelines for in the previous step. Draw these features atop your guidelines.
-
5
Create another drawing layer, then click the eyedropper icon from the tool palette to run "Eyedropper," the tool for sampling colors. Click an undamaged image region near one of the features you drew to sample the region's color. Run "Paintbrush" as described in Step 2, then drag over the simple structures you drew in the previous step to paint the structure.
-
6
Click the zoom tool, then click and drag left to zoom out to view your work as though from a distance. This task helps you see errors in the picture.
-
7
Drag right to zoom back in, then use "Paintbrush" and "Eyedropper" tools to refine the face picture until your simple block shapes are smoothed and detailed, and the face appears recreated.
