How to Adjust the Colors on a Vizio to Be Correct

At some point, you may notice the colors aren't quite right on your Vizio TV screen. Too much or too little green, red, or blue or other color may be displayed. All of this is normal throughout the life of your TV. Your preferences may have changed or the environment's surroundings, such as the wall color, may bring out more of one hue than another. For whatever reason, you can adjust the colors to be more correct through the TV's menu.

Step 1

Connect the video cable tightly if green, blue, or red colors are missing.

Press the "Menu" button. Highlight "Picture Mode" and press "Enter." Press the left/right arrow buttons and select "Vivid," "Golf," "Basketball," "Game," "Baseball," "Standard," "Movie" or "Custom" picture mode, whatever picture mode best describes how you most often watch TV. Press the down arrow button and select "Color." Press the left/right arrow buttons and adjust the color.

Step 3

Press the down arrow button and select "Tint." Press the left/right arrow buttons and adjust the color. Adjust the tint so that flesh tones look natural.

Step 4

Press the down arrow button and select "Advanced Video." Press "Enter" and press the down arrow button and select "Color Temperature." Press the left/right arrow buttons and select "Normal" for normal color temperature, "Warm" for more yellow, orange, and red colors; or choose the "Custom" option to manually adjust the colors. The color temperature default setting is "Cool," which displays more blues and greens. Press the "Exit" button when finished.

Step 5

Press the "Menu" button. Highlight "Picture Mode" and press "Enter." Press the left/right arrow buttons and select "Vivid," "Golf," "Basketball," "Game," "Baseball," "Standard," "Movie" or "Custom" picture mode, whatever picture mode best describes how you most often watch TV. Press the down arrow button and select "Reset Picture Mode." Press the right arrow button and press "OK." Alternatively, you can select "Cancel" if you want to cancel resetting the picture mode. Press the "Enter" button when finished.
