How to Send Pokes on Facebook From an HTC Desire

Activate your HTC Desire on Facebook.

You can send and return Facebook pokes on your HTC Desire by text message once you activate your mobile phone number on your Facebook account. Sending a poke by text message is the same as sending a poke on the website. Your friend gets notified by Facebook that you have poked him, and the poke appears on his Facebook page.

Instructions

1. Activate your HTC Desire mobile phone number on your Facebook account. From a Web browser, click "Account," and select "Account Settings." Select the "Mobile" link, and then click "Add a Phone." In the Step 1 pop-up, choose your country and wireless carrier, and click "Next." With your HTC Desire, text the letter "F" to 32655." Facebook will text you back with a confirmation code. Enter that code in the Step 2 pop-up, and click "Next."

2. Open a new text message on your phone. In the To text field at the top of the screen, enter 32655.

3. Type "Poke <friend name>." For instance, if you are poking your friend John Doe, text "Poke John Doe."

4. Tap "Send."
