Angel Costume Made From a White Sheet
Costumes are defined as the artistic composition of clothing to represent a person, place or thing. A costume can be made to resemble or represent most anything imaginable, and imagination plays a big part when deciding what costume to wear. Costumes can be bought pre-made at stores locally and on the Internet, but making a costume can be entertaining and rewarding, as well as cheaper. Angel costumes are popular choice and can be made with a clean, white sheet.

1
Lay the sheet on a flat surface such as a table or the floor. Fold the sheet in half so the shortest ends meet.
-
2
Locate the middle of the sheet. This can be done by measuring with a tape ruler or by plain sight. Use a pair of scissors to cut out a half circle in the center of the folded part of the sheet. The hole should be large enough for the wearer's head to fit through like a poncho. If the hole is too small, cut another inch or so off of the already made circle.

3
Place the sheet on her body by sliding her head through the hole, and let it hang. Make sure the sheet reaches her feet. If the sheet needs to be trimmed, mark the cutoff point with a pencil and remove the sheet to trim it with scissors.
-
4
Have the wearer stand erect with her arms stretched out to her sides. Determine where on the sheet the sleeves will be located. Also decide how loose you want the sleeves. Mark this point on the sheet with a pencil on both sides.
-
5
Remove the sheet and turn it inside out. Starting from the mark on the sides of the sheet, use a needle and thread to stitch the loose ends of fabric together, going all the way down to the bottom. This will create sleeves as well as close off the open ends of the sheet to give a more of a robe look. The bottom of the sheet can be hemmed if desired. Turn the sheet right side out and place it on the wearer to determine if it is satisfactory.

6
Add wings to the costume. Obtain a large piece of cardboard and make an outline of a pair of wings. The wings can be as large or small as desired and be elaborate or simple. Accents and decorations can be made on the wings with magic markers.
-
7
Cut out the outline with a box cutter or utility knife and make four holes in the wings, two near the top and two near the bottom. Use spray paint to color the cardboard. Gold or white are most common for angel wings. Place a long ribbon through the top holes and secure on the wearers back, crossing the ribbon on the chest and returning them to the back where they will be threaded through the bottom holes in the wings and tied off securely.
