How to Make a Bridal Hairpin
Rather than spend an excessive amount of money on a bridal hairpin, make you own. Aside from the lower expense, another benefit of making your own bridal hairpin is that you can match the hairpin exactly to the dress or wedding theme. For example, if you use a theme like butterflies, find one that matches the colors of the wedding to use on the hairpin. In addition to a hairpin for the bride, make ones that match for the bridesmaids to wear. Does this Spark an idea?

- Fake flower with flat bottom
Instructions
-
-
1
Wipe the hairpins clean with a towel.
-
2
Plug in a hot glue gun. Wait for it to preheat. The amount of time it takes to heat up depends on the gun.
-
-
3
Squeeze a line of hot glue onto the upper part of the hairpin.
-
4
Hold the jewel or flower in one hand so the back faces downward. Hold the hairpin with the hot glue on it in your other hand. Slowly place the jewel or flower onto the glue at the closed end of the pin (not the end that the hair slides into). Shift the hand holding the jewel or flower so your thumb sits on the top of the jewel or flower and your index finger rests on the back of the pin, directly below the decorative item.

5
Shake glitter over the rest of the glue on the hairpin. Continue to hold the hairpin with your thumb on the jewel or flower and index finger underneath the pin.
-
6
Hold the jewel or flower in place for 20 seconds. Remove your finger and wait another 20 minutes before using the hairpin.

Tips & Warnings
Hold the hairpin over a trash can when it's time to add the glitter. This way, the extra glitter will fall into the trash, making for faster cleanup.
Do not touch the metal nozzle of the hot glue gun. It will burn skin.
