Hair inhibitors slow the growth of freshly waxed hair.

Hirsutism is a condition that causes excessive hair growth caused by hormone imbalance and is treated with hair inhibitors. Though the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not approved any treatments for hirsutism, you may want to try a hair inhibitor at home. A hair inhibitor works best when used on freshly sugared or waxed skin by eliminating cystine growth spurts inside the hair follicle. Make a hair inhibitor naturally at home using soy milk, herbs and spearmint tea. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Unscented lotion
  • Mixing bowl

Instructions

    • 1

Combine soy milk and unscented lotion in a large mixing bowl. Stir the milk and lotion mixture until smooth.

    • 2

Add two or three drops of evening primrose oil and mix thoroughly. Cut open the tip of one Vitamin E gel capsule and empty the contents into the mixture. Stir the lotion mixture well.

    • 3

Wax or sugar the area where the hair inhibitor will be used. This method of hair removal pulls the hair out of the follicle and allows the inhibitor to work better. Clean and dry the area thoroughly.

    • 4

Apply the hair inhibitor lotion mixture to the area liberally. Rub the inhibitor into the skin until it has absorbed completely. These ingredients may help reduce the rate of hair growth and decrease hair follicle size.

    • 5

Pour 1 c. water into a saucepan, and bring it to a boil. Add 1 generous teaspoon of dried or fresh spearmint leaves. Allow the leaves to stand in the water for 5 to 10 minutes. Pour into a cup, and drink once a day to regulate hormone levels that lead to excessive hair growth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try taking fermented bee pollen capsules and Vitamin C capsules daily to further inhibit the growth of hair. Both products have been shown to increase estrogen and decrease hair growth.

  • Talk to your doctor before using a topical or oral hair inhibitor.
