A United States keyboard layout can minimize the use of the mouse.

Microsoft Word 2010 can format a paragraph for a custom look. Word’s command ribbon contains dozens of editing tools. If you prefer sending commands to the computer by keyboard instead of by mouse, use Word’s keyboard shortcuts to access the editing tools. Try applying keyboard shortcuts by pressing two or more keys to insert a “Font” or “Paragraph” option, such as line spacing. The Microsoft Office website lists shortcuts for a United States keyboard layout.
