1
Condition only the bottom part of your hair and stay away from the roots. The roots of your hair don't need to be conditioned; this is where you lose most of your volume.
-
2
Rinse the conditioner out of your hair thoroughly as any leftover conditioner will only weigh your hair down more. Continue rinsing for one minute after you feel the conditioner has been washed away.

-
3
Apply a a quarter-size amount of volumizing mousse or gel to the roots of your hair before you dry or style it. Don't use more than a quarter-size amount, as too much of any product will weigh down your hair.
-
4
Turn your head over and dry your hair upside down, pointing the dryer at your roots. This will give your hair more lift and a fuller appearance to counteract the weight of the conditioner.
-
5
Set your hair with large rollers to add volume that conditioners can take away. Invest in a good set of Velcro rollers and wear them while you get ready in the morning. Take them out as your last step and lightly spritz your hair with flexible- hold hairspray.
-
6
Wash your hair with a deep cleaning shampoo once a month to rid your hair of any leftover conditioners that may be weighing you down.
